Life has to be completely hectic or completely static. I dislike the in-between phase,” Shah Rukh Khan tells OK!. Luckily for him then, the superstar’s life is currently moving at a feverish pitch. In the 24 hours before he is slated to fly to London to shoot for Yash Chopra’s as-yet-untitled directorial venture, Shah Rukh shoots campaign photographs for TAG Heuer [a brand he has endorsed for nearly a decade], has back-to-back business meetings, supervises personally as his suitcases are packed, spends time with his children and sits down with OK! to talk being a middleclass man, a schizophrenic jester and a famous face.

While he revels in his superstardom, the 46-year-old actor isn’t particularly pleased with the public and media scrutiny that comes with being famous. “People think they know you,” he complains. And he has cause for complaint. After all, there has been no dearth of gossip about Shah Rukh in the last few months. Whether it was a club-brawl in late January where he slapped Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder, or the alleged link-up with his Don co-star Priyanka Chopra, SRK has been a page 1 and page 3 staple for reasons he’d rather relegate to a junk box.

Sitting next to the boxing ring on the fourth floor of his home Mannat, Shah Rukh pulls no punches as he tells us: “It’s really sad, because you can’t counter every rumour about your life.” In this amazing and unpredictable exclusive interview with OK! however, he does clarify a few.
